Halloumi burger

  • Induction hob
  • Cooking cycle: Precise grilling (200°C)
  • Vege

Ingredients (serves: 2)

Halloumi cheese

  • Sliced halloumi cheese 200 g
  • Olive oil 1 tbsp

Burger

  • Burger buns 4 pcs.
  • Leaves lettuce 4 pcs.
  • Tomatoes 2 pcs.
  • Red onion 1 pcs.
  • Pickled cucumbers 2 pcs.
  • Greek yoghurt 1 cup

Marinade

  • Olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Dried oregano or thyme 1 tsp
  • a pinch of salt and pepper

Method:

  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, dried oregano or thyme and black pepper to make a marinade.
  • Cut halloumi into slices and dip into the marinade. Allow the halloumi to marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Turn on the Grill cycle (200°C) on the Amica induction hob and grill the halloumi with the marinade. Fry for about a minute (30 seconds on each side) until golden brown.
  • Meanwhile, make tzatziki dip. To do so, mix Greek yoghurt, olive oil, salt and pepper.
  • Lightly toast burger buns in a frying pan on the Grill cycle (200°C) for 1 minute per side.
  • How to put the burger together? Spread tzatziki dip inside the bun. Place lettuce leaves on the bottom half of each bun. Top it with red onion, tomato slices, pickled cucumbers and fried halloumi cheese slices. Put the upper half of the bun on top of the halloumi cheese and press gently.

Serving:

Serve halloumi cheese burgers immediately when the cheese is warm and melted.

Chef's suggestion:

You can replace tzatziki with a simple but classic sauce - mustard, ketchup or garlic and natural yoghurt.
